Couples Therapy at AMALY

Couples counseling is a form of therapy that supports married couples and people in intimate relationships. Therapy may be helpful for partners seeking improved intimacy and understanding. While the relationship itself is the focus in couples counseling, each partner is expected to pay attention to self-improvement and self-awareness.

As all couples experience tension or conflict at some point in their relationship, many people are unsure when they should seek couples counseling. The reality is that couples may seek relationship counseling for many different reasons, including:

  • Improving intimacy

  • Strengthening Communication

  • Sexual dissatisfaction

  • Financial issues

  • Expressing anger

  • Infidelity

  • Major life adjustments

  • Frequent conflict or high stress levels

  • Conflicting ideas on childrearing

In couples counseling, there is no blame, shame, or criticism. Your therapist will provide an emotionally safe environment for you and your partner to fully express yourselves and offer focused guidance and support to help you reach your relationship goals.

*Note: Under the Federal No Surprises Act (H.R. 133 – effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. If you don’t have insurance or are not using insurance, Amaly will provide you with a written estimate cost for services and guide you through this process so you are well informed. The Good Faith Estimate is not a final agreement on the cost, but a projected total estimate for services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
